Second new property "Number of Possible Dynamic Children" is the number of members that are allowed to be created by users. When the database is refreshed Essbase will create placeholder entries for the defined number of potential members.

Note that this functionality is only available in Planning modules: Oracle Hyperion Workforce Planning, Oracle Hyperion Public Sector Planning and Budgeting, Oracle Hyperion Capital Asset Planning, and Oracle Project Financial Planning.

You can read more about dynamic members from the Admin Guide: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E40248_01/epm.1112/planning_admin.pdfHenri Vilminkohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16367799771321317998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6873528634794784349.post-66120645574502831222013-05-13T21:06:46.784+03:002013-05-13T21:06:46.784+03:00Hi Henri

I do think that would be handy (especially if you start using more dimensions you were limited to in previous versions), and do hope that they get what I was describing one day too.

JasonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6873528634794784349.post-54366486954122522452013-04-25T18:08:46.218+03:002013-04-25T18:08:46.218+03:00I assume that the dynamic POV feature is what was ...I assume that the dynamic POV feature is what was already added to 11.1.2.2 in Patch Set Update 302. Here's a snippet from the readme file but there's more so you should check patch nr. 15850273 on Oracle Support.

--------------------
Support for Dynamic POV Member Lists in Web Data Forms

This release provides support for dynamic POV member lists in Web Data Forms. You can create dynamic POV member lists to display dimension members that meet specific criteria. Dynamic POV member lists are created dynamically at runtime, based on the current POV member of one or more dimensions.

Using dynamic POV member lists in data forms enables you to quickly populate rows and columns with valid members, depending on what has been selected in the POV. For example, you can create a dynamic POV member list that defines valid entities per year. When you select a year in the data form, the system displays only the valid entities that were defined in the member list for that year.

[... etc ...]Henri Vilminkohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16367799771321317998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6873528634794784349.post-34693710410831375422013-04-25T16:49:50.686+03:002013-04-25T16:49:50.686+03:00After reading your post, I feel like a kid on Chri...After reading your post, I feel like a kid on Christmas eve. I wish Oracle would hurry up and make 11.1.2.3 general availability.

One question I have is if you know more about the HFM statement that 11.1.2.3 supports a dynamic POV. Could you clarify on that? One possible interpretation is that you can build a POV similar to that of SmartView AdHoc or extended analytics -meaning you could say all base of x and all base of y... I am hoping that is what is meant.

Thanks,

Jason Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6873528634794784349.post-13151313377710015302013-04-17T14:48:35.238+03:002013-04-17T14:48:35.238+03:00We don't have any exact information as usual b...We don't have any exact information as usual but rumors say we're getting close... Good concise summary!

Question: when do you expect the 11.1.2.3 GA to be released?

I was prepping my customer for a 11.1.2.1 > 11.1.2.2 maintenance release, but I may leap frog it for 11.1.2.3 if it's due in the next couple months.

Thanks!
-TJcorphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15158708226018285025noreply@blogger.com
